My name is Carlos Henrique Luz Nunes de Almeida, Birding Guide in Brazilian Southeast Region. I live in Campinas, near Sao Paulo city. I offer half or full-day guided tours, weekend or by arragements tours can be organized for many days to the best birding hot spots in and around Sao Paulo state. I can guide in Fazenda Hotel Areia que Canta - SP, Fazenda Bacury - SP, Pousada Jacauna - SP, Intervales National Park - SP, Itatiaia National Park - MG/RJ, Monte Verde - Camanducaia - MG and other places. My specialty are Hummingbirds and Tanagers. But if you are interested in Parrots, Manakins, Birds of Prey, Toucans etc, I know where to find them. |

I would like to recommend and give a 5 star rating to my new friend and birding guide extraordinaire Carlos Henrique. As a US based Airline Captain I sometimes get very little advance notice of my future schedule. This was the case when I learned I would be laying over in Campinas, Brazil for 5 days during the New Years holiday (2010). I contacted Carlos on 11/30/09 and informed him of my desire to go birding during that time. By coincidence, Carlos had already made plans with his wife Viviane, and two other couples to go birding in Intervales SP, and had already booked rooms in a Lodge at Intervales. I found Carlos to be very patient, and extremely knowledgeable. He knew all of the birds by call and by their English names. During our 2 full days and 2 half days of birding, we identified 135 different species of birds. This experience more than exceeded my expectations. Carlos has a gentle spirit, and a great desire to cater to your every need. I came away from this experience with six new very dear friend, and many special memories. Thank you Carlos for your gentle spirit, love of birding, and caring personality.
